Home sweet home

Worked today, and it was the 2nd Saturday we didn't close the shop early (that I've worked, anyway). And man, are my feets tired!

Gonna help Mom with her MiniDisc player tonight, I think. "Terminal" is playing at the theatres, so we might go see that tomorrow at the matinee' since "Bourne Supremacy" isn't here yet.

Lance stopped by to see me when I was working to get his oil changed. His haircut does look good, but he still owes me dinner ;)

Man, I'm just braindead today...

What in the crap is going on???

Okay. I just got a POSTCARD from my ex, Kyle, who stopped talking to me back in...November or something. Occasionally he will unblock me from his messenger list...but not talk to me, except the one time he asked about some email addresses...but otherwise...I've heard nothing from him up until this point. And he knew I was looking for a job at Fed-Ex for the beginning of the summer, and I never told him that. Perhaps he reads the blog. No reason why he can't, it's right there on my AIM profile.

This is all just a little confusing. So I'm going to dinner with Mom. Adios!

*edit*
After dinner and an expensive trip to Wal*Mart, Mom's car started acting up. Anything that used power, headlights, blinker, radio, A/C...sucked all the power out of the console things like the spedometer and tacometer. So I couldn't tell how fast I was going down the interstate, plus, it took a long time for it to kick down into a lower gear so I could accelerate on the on-ramp to the interstate. The ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) light came on when we parked the car at Wal*Mart and as soon as that happened, everything went downhill. She just got her car back last week from a tune up (at the place I was supposed to work this summer), and now all of the sudden it's doing this...very strange. I would have left a really mean message after having spent a few hundred dollars on my car and have it go *kaput* on me. She was a little nicer.

Weird, and not to mention rude. Try asking nicely if you can see my camera. Not just telling me to invite you to it. Geez. Where to people get their manners these days?

The Underwear Ranger returns!

Yay! I ordered my underwear! I'd been trying ALL morning before work, for at least 45 minutes to get this stuff ordered. It kept not working, however, and doubling the amount of underwear I wanted. I'm not gonna buy $112 worth of undies, sorry Victoria's Secret.

I met my next door neighbor today. I'm sure she's been living right next to us for over a year, but I've never talked to her today until she came in with her truck to get the oil changed and I looked at her address and realized she lives right next to me. Odd. We're not a close-knit community, if you can't tell.

STILL trying to find someone to replace me at work. I really hope they find someone, 'cause Tim doesn't want to work with JUST Nicole...we need someone else there. Besides, Nicole has a hard time working 8 hours a day...10 would kill her.

Gotta start saving money now, these next few paychecks are going to go into savings in case I don't get a job in Spearfish right away. After Wes pays his half of the plane ticket, I will only have $78 left on my credit card bill. So nice :)

Cleanin' up my act

I've been going through all my messenger lists and cleaning out people I never talk to anymore, people who don't talk to me anymore, or people I just don't want to talk to anymore. I know it's not spring, but some cleaning seemed in order.

I have to call about tires for my car tomorrow. I guess there's some big sale going on at one of the tire places in town, so Dad wants me to do that. So I need to remember to do so. Which means I will probably have to write this on my hand...and not scrub too hard.

I'm excited about my apartment even though it's a month away. I think I'm going to take Wes over to Spearfish when he comes here so he can see my campus since I got to see his. It's really pretty and tiny, and I'm pretty sure there's some fishin' and hiking to do in the area. Wes will be here in 14 days. Yay!

At last, at last

I think I have found an apartment. It's the one room studio, bigger than the dorm room, and I'd have it to myself, plus I wouldn't have to share a bathroom with 18 other girls. it's $220/month, and I filled out the application for it today and put down a $220 payment. She says she's pretty sure I'll do well and have a chance at the apartment.

I might have to commute for the first couple of days or move all my stuff in a Uhaul and set it outside of Brett's (gotta ask, first), and stay there for a couple nights 'til one of the people in the singles move out.

Just about had a heart attack on the way back home, however. I was cruisin' along, doing 80mph, when a Highway Patrolman coming the opposite direction slowed wayyyy down, crossed the median and got into my lane and turned his lights on right behind me. Scared the piss out of me. So I pulled off on the shoulder and slowed way down...but he passed me. Then I realized it was probably the Virginia Impala that passed me doing 90mph that he was probably after. I never did see him pull anyone over, but about 10 miles after he scared the piss out of me, we saw him going back the opposite direction again. It was odd. But I was just thinking..."I cannot afford another speeding ticket...I just got the first one off my record..."

But they never get you if you're just donig 80mph. Thank goodness. Or I'd be in trouble. Or I'd have to leave for work a lot earlier than I already do...

My Weather Today (cool 'n rainy)

Lacey's been ignoring me lately. She signs online, I message her, and don't get anything back. It's really frustrating. I just wanna talk to her, see how things are going, y'know...all that friendly kinda stuff.

My inner child

Got this from Phil's site

adults might just accept that, I know

get some power of my own.

Gonna go looking for apartments today and rag on the ladies at the Family Planning place for not picking up their phone ever. I guess I should try calling them right now before we leave, eh? I think I'll do that.

It's rainy today, so I'm glad I don't have to work, but kinda sucks 'cause I hate driving on the interstate when it's raining. Hydroplaning sucks donkey balls.

Well, must go wake Ashley, call Family Planning, change litterbox, and get dressed, not particularly in that order. Wish me luck!

apts

K. Kinda starting to like the idea of the studio apartment, even though there's no kitchen in it. I got to thinking, and all throughout my time in Heide hall, I never once used the stove or the oven. It's not like I cook a lot...I can just buy a hot plate and a toaster, and I have a microwave in the basement, and I should be good to go. I'm going to Spearfish tomorrow to check it out.

Also, there's this girl named Lauren who's going to possibly be living in the same apartment building, and she might need a roommate, if it turns out she's staying there. Well, apparently it's not cheaper to get a single because the studio is only $220/month, whereas w/ the double with Lauren, it would be aboug $280/month. $60 is quite a bit of money...groceries and whatnot, y'know? So I'll think about it, check out the complex, and see what I want to do. So far that's really the only thing I have going for me. I figure it can't be worse than living in the dorms, right??

I STILL haven't gotten ahold of the Family Planning place! I'm getting so mad right now. I've been trying to contact them for over a week now. I got a message this morning from an actual machine. It said they were on the other line or with a customer, so I could leave a message or call back later. I tried calling back about 7 times before I finally just went ahead and left a message and my phone number, and no one has called me yet. I'm starting to get irked. I guess tomorrow before I go to Spearfish I should call the Family Planning place once more, and if that doesn't work, call the one here in Gillette, and hopefully I can get my shot before my time is up on this dose. Grr.
